Easy2Recruit was in London last week taking part in GSF TechFest, where the agency helping garages hire overseas talent found attendees at the brand-new trade event were “very receptive” to its innovative recruitment offering.
GSF TechFest took place from 4.00pm to 9.30pm at Wembley last Thursday (13th June). The evening trade event was set up to put the latest developments in garage equipment, tools, parts and business support in front of garages.
“Our stand at GSF TechFest was very busy throughout the show,” said Easy2Recruit founder Ambi Singh. “The market for garage staff in and around London is extremely competitive, and those we spoke to were very receptive to our recruitment offering. We had some very interesting conversations with garages and businesses in the wider automotive aftermarket. It was a great event for us.”
Easy2Recruit makes it possible for garages to recruit technicians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India. All a garage owner needs is a licence from the Home Office, which Easy2Recruit can help them obtain. The owner then undertakes a video selection interview with the candidate. Once a technician is chosen the company handles all pastoral care for that overseas worker, including visa application, flight booking and accommodation.
As well as the core offering, Easy2Recruit offers Student2Skill, which pairs international students studying in the UK with garages looking for part-time workers. Alongside these innovative programmes, Easy2Recruit are also the authorised recruitment supplier for the National Body Repair Association (NBRA).
“Easy2Recruit started a year ago in June 2023,” said Ambi. “One year on, and our message is being heard, and garages are getting on board. GSF TechFest was a great event, and put us in front of exactly the people who need to be talking to us.”
