The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has called upon Matt Cleevely, a leading voice in the independent garage sector, to deliver an exclusive business development webinar on Wednesday 22nd January, from 2:00 to 3:00pm.
The webinar, exclusive to IMI members, will delve into the inspiring journey of Cleevely Motors, a family-run business with over 60 years of history, as it transitioned to become the largest independent electric vehicle (EV) repair specialist in the UK.
“Our journey with Cleevely EV shows what’s possible with the right mindset, investment, and dedication,” said Matt. “I’m excited to share our story and hopefully inspire others to seize the opportunity.”
Matt’s passion for EV began in 2018, driven by frustration with poor dealership service and a determination to learn about the emerging technology.
In the webinar, he will outline how Cleevely EV capitalised on the growing EV market, tackled challenges such as limited parts availability by establishing an in-house supply chain, and leveraged customer education, community engagement, and continuous learning to create a profitable and sustainable business.
“I share our story not to boast, but to highlight the potential EVs have for independents,” Matt added. “I’m not saying to abandon ICE vehicles. In fact, over half of the jobs in our workshop are still ICE-related. It’s not about choosing one over the other but preparing now to secure a future where EVs will play an increasingly significant role.”
The IMI webinar will take place online on Wednesday, 22nd January from 2:00 to 3:00pm. IMI members can register at https://tide.theimi.org.uk/cleevely-ev-webinar.
