Curious garages are urged to make last-minute plans to attend an introductory day at Cleevely Electric Vehicles (EV) on Saturday 16th September
Runing from 10am to 3pm, the itinerary will include a detailed tour of the UK’s first independent EV specialist workshop along with presentations from Matt Cleevely, Managing Director of Cleevely Group, and Alistair Finch, one of the country’s top technical trainers.
The ‘not to be missed’ event offers a unique opportunity to learn from the experiences of Matt and the team over the last five years as Cleevely EV developed its respected reputation for industry-leading work servicing and repairing EVs.
“We want to encourage other independent workshops to better understand this potentially lucrative opportunity and gain confidence to get involved,” said Matt Cleevely, Managing Director at Cleevely Electric Vehicles.
SMMT data shows over a million plug-in electrified vehicles (BEV & PHEV) were sold in the UK between 2016 and 2020, all will now require an annual MOT test. According to Cleevely EV ‘no workshop needs to be turning this work away’. With an EV sold every 60 seconds during July 2023, garages are being urged to now embrace the sector.
Matt will explain how his own EV business grew from a standing start in 2018 to today making up 35% of day-to-day jobs with around 70 cars per week passing through the workshop.
“We explain the kind of work we do, the opportunities available and what equipment you actually need to safely operate, move and work on electrified vehicles,” said Matt. “Current government legislation is driving EV sales growth, so understanding the implications of this change is vital for any workshop business plan.”
Lunch and refreshments will be provided, along with a Certificate of Attendance – which counts towards CPD. Questions are welcomed during the day or can be sent in advance.
