Limited places left for June At Ease With EV training at Cleevely Motors

Following a strong reception at Automechanika Birmingham last week, electric vehicle (EV) servicing pioneer Matt Cleevely is calling on technicians and garage owners to take the next step in their EV journey by securing a place on the upcoming At Ease With EV training course, set for Saturday 14th June at Cleevely Motors in Cheltenham.

The call to action follows a series of sessions led by founder Matt Cleevely in the Workshop Hub, last week where he demonstrated key EV diagnostic techniques, safety procedures, and repair tools. The presentations focused on breaking down common challenges and encouraging garages to take practical, achievable steps into the electric vehicle market.

The At Ease With EV course is tailored for technicians who already hold IMI Level 2, 3, or 4 EV qualifications but want to convert that theory into real-world confidence. Held in Cleevely’s award-winning EV workshop, the one-day course offers a deep dive into practical techniques including high-voltage safety, insulation testing, live fault diagnostics, and common EV servicing tasks.

“There’s no substitute for practical experience,” said Matt Cleevely. “This course is about giving technicians the confidence to get hands-on, ask the questions they’ve been sitting on, and return to their workshops ready to carry out EV work with competence and clarity.”

Despite many technicians now holding formal EV qualifications, Matt says a gap remains between training and workshop readiness.

“It’s perfectly normal to feel hesitant. Qualifications are a great start, but confidence only comes with time on the tools and exposure to real scenarios. That’s exactly what we provide.”

The course will be led by Matt Cleevely alongside respected technical trainer Alistair Finch, offering delegates hands-on insight into high-voltage battery testing, interlock system procedures, and advanced topics including Tesla’s service mode.

Priced at £295 + VAT, limited availability remains. Following June 14th, the next course will be held on 4 October.
