HELLA has taken part in the annual Banbury Christmas Tractor Run, with its trailer decorated with HELLA lighting products helping to light up the 20-mile route. The event has been held every December since 2016 in support of the Katharine House Hospice in the town, with almost £150,000 raised over the years through donations.
100 tractors from local farms and agricultural businesses in the Banbury area took part in this year’s run, held on 14 December, and the vehicles navigated a circular course through villages and farms around the town. Hundreds of spectators turned out to support the seasonal event, which included a competition for ‘Best Dressed Tractor’.
HELLA’s special trailer included a number of its LED work lights and its colourful side marker lights, which provided illumination for the dark evening. “We have taken part in the Christmas Tractor Run for the last two years,” said Neil Grant, Managing Director at HELLA UK, “and our team went to town on the trailer, making it both a bauble and a beacon thanks to the use of our lighting products!”
The Banbury Christmas Tractor run is organised by Katharine House Hospice with support from local agricultural firm RC Baker. HELLA’s ongoing involvement in the seasonal event reflects the company’s long-standing links to the area. HELLA’s sales and distribution arm was based in Banbury for almost 50 years before moving a few miles up the road to Chipping Warden in 2015. The company continues to be involved with local events in and around Banbury, as well as supporting local charities.
“HELLA is a well-known name in the area,” said Neil, “and we are proud to be an active participant in activities in and around our UK hometown, with the Tractor Run being a particularly fun event for us.”
2024’s Christmas Tractor Run has already raised over £10,000 for the Katharine House Hospice, and donations can be made until 31st January 2025. To donate, visit: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/banburychristmastractorrun2024.
