With widespread manufacturer security gateways challenging routine diagnostics, Hella Gutmann’s recently launched mega macs S 20 is expected to draw serious interest at Automechanika Birmingham in June.
Designed to accelerate fault-finding and reduce diagnostic bottlenecks, the mega macs S 20 supports advanced communication protocols such as Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) and CAN-FD, while offering built-in access to vehicle manufacturer (VM) security gateways.
“With the mega macs S 20, you’ve got a tool that streamlines diagnostics and helps technicians pinpoint faults faster and more accurately,” said Julian Goulding, Head of Garage Equipment at Hella Gutmann. “It means that workshops can minimise downtime and maximise productivity without blowing the budget.”
Hella Gutmann’s mega macs S 20 integrates Cyber Security Management (CSM) for seamless, one-time authentication across OEM-secured platforms at no extra cost. This enables workshops to quickly carry out comprehensive diagnostic routines, such as reading and clearing fault codes or performing basic adaptations, on security-protected vehicles from over 20 leading VMs, including FCA, Mercedes-Benz, and the Volkswagen Group.
The mega macs S 20 comes with a rugged Android tablet and allows technicians to plug the VCI directly into the OBD port, connecting via Bluetooth or USB-C for fast, hassle-free diagnostic access.
Priced at £2,150 + VAT for a limited time, the mega macs S 20 package includes two years of software updates and a durable Android tablet. Workshops can also opt for HGS Data access, which delivers detailed technical information such as wiring diagrams, service schedules, and component locations precisely when needed.
Visitors to Automechanika Birmingham can experience the mega macs S 20 firsthand at stand Q80, near the Hall 19 entrance, from June 3-5. Free tickets are available online at: https://automechanika-2025-splash.reg.buzz/?exhibitor-inviter=86aab476-d9a1-11ef-9bbd-000000000000.
