Three inspirational industry figures are set to feature in Schaeffler REPXPERT’s highly anticipated Wrenches and Wisdom video series. Putting the spotlight on apprenticeships, it aims to showcase real-life stories and experiences from garage owners and technicians across the country.
Supporting the initiative, Colin Denton, star of TV’s Classic Car Garage and Chief Executive of the North London Garages Group Training Association (NLGGTA), Louise Baker of Womanic in Birmingham, and Simon Powney of Markhams Garage in Herefordshire, will all be featured in the new series.
“It’s incredibly encouraging to see an OE brand like Schaeffler stepping up to highlight the crucial importance of apprenticeships for our entire industry,” said Colin. “It’s essential to support and nurture the next generation of automotive technicians, and campaigns like Wrenches and Wisdom play a vital role in this effort. My students are especially excited to get involved and share their hopes for the future. I believe it will inspire many more to pursue careers in automotive.”
The first series, due to be filmed this autumn, will delve into the personal and professional journeys of these industry stalwarts, while seeking ideas on how to attract and nurture the next generation.
“We’ve had an overwhelming response to our initial call for garages to get involved,” said Matthew Selby, Sales and Marketing Director at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd. “We’re kicking-off Wrenches and Wisdom with three industry stalwarts and have exciting plans in the pipeline to tour the UK, seeking out those nuggets of wisdom while fostering a sense of community and shared purpose within the automotive aftermarket.”
Wrenches and Wisdom will be streamed across all UK Schaeffler REPXPERT social media feeds later this year.
Garage owners, technicians, and apprentices interested in being featured are invited to express their interest by emailing info@repxpert.co.uk.
