An interesting project working as UK Country Manager on a short-term contract during the second half of 2021.

JackFinder is a Finnish technology business, with the stated aim being to: ‘bring together consumers and garages to make car maintenance easy, transparent and cost-effective’.

Their innovative technology includes a service compiler, a map-enabled garage comparison service and a real-time pricing engine – all based on data from car manufacturers.

My role was geared clearly and simply to two objectives. These were to build a garage network and deliver in consumer bookings. From a standing-start in the UK we moved very quickly to grow the presence of JackFinder’s GaragesNear.me consumer booking site.

I handled the entire business and related infra-structure including proposition development, marketing, operations and recuitment of a ‘virtual sales team’ and we achieved some considerable impact within a short period of time.

The online consumer service and MOT booking segment remains a fiercely competitive space within the UK and after some consideration I opted not to continue in a full-time capacity.
